Event Recap
On August 19, the HOPE Association, in collaboration with NBV and Gothenburg City Library, arranged a meeting to mark four years since the Taliban regained power in Afghanistan.
The meeting was held from 6–8 p.m. at Gothenburg City Library and gathered nearly 100 participants. The evening began with a documentary by Asif Talash, followed by a lecture by journalist Mukhtar Wafaee on censorship of books and media.
Zakia Mirzaee (women's rights activist), Alexander Abuzar (political scientist), Faizeh Waqaar (lawyer) and Jomaa Lomani (social analyst) then participated in a panel discussion led by Hosseina Tavasoli. They highlighted women's rights, human rights, and the political and cultural oppression in Afghanistan.
The aim was to create awareness, raise Afghan voices and strengthen support for human rights.
