Hazara Culture Day – Summary

On May 16, the association HOPE organized the celebration of Hazara Culture Day in Gothenburg under the theme
“Culture and Community”. The evening gathered around 500 guests from different parts of Sweden and Europe and
featured live music, poetry, a fashion show, cultural performances, and recognition of young talents in education and sports.

The program began with a traditional fashion show and continued with speeches, poetry, and music. Visitors could also explore
a cultural market showcasing handicrafts and artwork from Hazara culture. Several students, researchers, and athletes were
recognized for their achievements during the evening.

One of the evening’s special guests was Zakia Khudadadi, a para-taekwondo gold medalist and an important symbol
of strength, courage, and representation. She participated to inspire young people and also presented honorary awards to
participants and athletes.

The audience also enjoyed a performance by Fahima Mirzai, the first female Sama dancer from Afghanistan.
Through her dance, she highlighted elements of Persian and Sufi cultural traditions.

The evening concluded with a live concert by Hamid Sakhizada, accompanied by musicians
Wase Arzou and Tamim Azizi, marking a memorable end to the celebration.
