The longest night of the year, Shab Cheleh, is an opportunity to gather, empathize, and keep ancient traditions alive; a night of poetry, storytelling, music, and joy.
For the third consecutive year, the HOPE Cultural Association is hosting this grand and ancient celebration in Gothenburg, Sweden.
It is an honor that in this program, well-known guests and prominent cultural figures will accept the association’s invitation and perform.
Guests and artists of the program:
Program host: Bazal Nikobin — social and media activist
Music: Tamim Azizi — tabla player, Rayan Hamdam — harmonium player and vocalist, Anwar Fazel — vocalist and damboura player, Adel Safizadeh — vocalist and pianist, Omid Rezaei — damboura player.
Humor: Harun Yousefi — well-known Afghan humorist and writer.
Dance: Bosnian dance group KUD Hadzibeg, Elham Yousefi — Dance artist.
Poetry: Iraj Alinejad, Jan Heydari, Marjan Asghari.
Hafez recitation: Leila Arezo — Poet
DJ: J@C DJ GROUP
Food: Afghan food buffet in collaboration with the restaurant
Event Recap
On December 20th of this year, Gothenburg, Sweden, had a different atmosphere. The HOPE Cultural Association warmed up the cold and winter weather of Sweden by organizing a Chele Night.
The Chele Night program was warmly welcomed by the culture-loving people.
The program content was diverse, and guests and performers from different parts of Sweden and England participated in the program.
The program began beautifully with a local dance from Bosnia, then Bazl Nikobin, the program host who came from Norway, officially opened the event with a welcoming speech.
In the first part, Sharifa Sahar, the association's director, and Asif Talash, the Chele Night program manager, welcomed the guests and participants and thanked the Chele Night team.
Marjan Asghari, the poet of the program, performed two pieces, and then Anwar Fazel and Tamim Azizi performed a combination of the damboura and tabla, which captured the hearts of the people with Fazel's pleasant voice and beautiful performance.
Then, the Afghan nationalist writer and special guest of the program; Haroon Yousefi attracted the attention of the people with his humorous readings.
Following this, teachers who actively participated in the association by organizing different classes in these two years were honored with the presence of Sanada, a representative of NBV Väst, and Haroon Yousefi.
In the last part of the first part, the DJs of the program; Dj J&C Group played songs and people danced and danced to take a break and eat traditional Afghan food.
After the break, a short video from the Mindset Engeering group was shown, in which people were invited to participate in a three-day workshop for free and strengthen their management, planning, and goal-setting skills.
Then, conceptual dance artist Elham Yousefi gave two wonderful performances that everyone enjoyed.
Next, three good poets of the program, Iraj Alinejad, Marjan Azari, and Jan Heydari, were invited to the stage and a poetry section was performed in the presence of the program host. The poets recited poems and the questions of the host related to the position of poets in the Cheleh Night and cultural occasions were answered by the poets.
It was time to recite Hafez and read and interpret the fortunes of the people who had previously taken their fortunes from the decorated tree. Leila Arezo, another poet of the program, recited some of Hafez's poems and read the fortunes of the people, and the atmosphere of the hall became friendly and beautiful with poems, expressions, and a humble management.
After all the different performances, it was time for music. The music section began with two delightful songs by Haroon Yousefi and Tamim Azizi on the tabla, and then the music team; Ryan Hamdam, singer and harmonium player, Adel Safizadeh; singer and keyboard player, Omid Rezaei; played the dambourah, and Tamim Azizi continued singing and playing the tabla.
At the end of the program, the guests were honored with a certificate of appreciation, a "green leaf, a gift from the Dervish Association", small gifts, and a flower branch.
